2011 Football Season
Tailgate Join our South Jersey Shore Chapter for tailgating at
every home game this year. Meet up with us the space # 481, located along
the right-field side of the "Spikes" Baseball Field, just across the
street from Beaver Stadium. The motor home is parked and ready at the site
by 9 am of each game day. We'll see you in Happy Valley ...for every Penn
State Home game. -

2011 Scholarship Winners from Wildwood
Kirby Thornton, left, received the 2011 Jon Beattie Scholarship
during the annual dinner of the Penn State South Jersey Shore Alumni
Chapter, held May 17th in Somers Point. Kirby will graduate from Wildwood
High School this Spring and plans to major in Elementary Education and
Spanish at Penn State. Leatrice Spiewak, right,
received the Ray Willett Scholarship from the Chapter. Leatrice is
graduating from Wildwood Catholic High School and plans to major in
Engineering at Penn State. Both students will be attending the University
Park campus.
The two presentations were made by Bruce Engle,
Scholarship Committee Chairperson. The PSU SJS Chapter's scholarship
programs cover all high schools in the four-county area. The dinner
speaker for the evening was
Brady Rourke, Coordinator of the Academic Support Program for Football Student Athletes at Penn State
University. This year's dinner was held at the Crap Trap Restaurant in
Somers Point.

In what may seem a blink of an
eye, the first year of college is ending for the Penn State Freshmen Class.
This past August, 11, 2010 the SJS Chapter hosted it's annual Send Off
gathering for the incoming 2010 Freshmen and their
families.

Upper Township Community/Recreation Center
1790 Route 50, Tuckahoe, NJ
Locations North:
From Parkway South, Take Exit 25: go right at light at end of ramp
heading west on Roosevelt Blvd. Stay on road, crossing over Rt. 9, going
past Wendy's. Stay on the road as it bears to the left. Go across RR
tracks, across Cedar Creek, past Rt. 610, past Town Hall and Middle
School (total distance from Parkway is 5.3 miles). At Rt. 50 light
(restaurant), turn right (more like a bear right) onto Route 50 North.
Travel about one (1) mile Community Center is on the left.
From Parkway Exit 20:
cross over Rt. 9; stay on Rt. 50 heading
north. Go past Custard Hut, past Rt. 610 light and past light at Triton
Bar (route 631). Community center is on left. Total distance from exit
20 is 6 miles.
From Route 50 out of Mays Landing Area: Travel on Route 50 South
when you get to the light at intersection of 49 & 50 stay on
Route 50. Community Center is one (1) mile up on right.
From Route 49, out of Bridgeton Area: Travel Route 49 east until
it dead ends into Route 50. Turn right onto Route 50 Community Center is
one (1) mile up on right.
